What is Street Soccer?

Street Soccer is taking the game back to its roots - the streets, the schoolyards, and the grass fields that are sitting empty. In a simpler time, kids would organize their own games and play until the sun went down.

We've brought this environment back, in a time when youth sports have become very professionalized and packaged from the earliest ages. We host a weekly 1.5-hour window of field time where kids of all ages and skill levels can meet up for pickup soccer. Our coaches provide the pinnies, balls, mark the fields, and get the games going (only if kids need some direction). It's 1.5 hours of fun, goals, laughs, and self-guided learning. We try not to coach and train too much. It's their day.

*Each 2-month season is a separate registration.


Why's it important?

Sometimes the best coach is the game itself. Coaches, in general, have dissected the game into drills so that kids can get lots of repetition of technical skills. What we must also provide are opportunities for self-expression with no outside pressures (expectations on performance/results). More times than not, the skills we hope the players will learn via "drills" actually emerge instinctively through many hours of play and on-field problem-solving. 


Is it affordable and does it provide further opportunities?
 
Yes to both! We've made it the most affordable option for soccer in the area so that everyone can be a part of the action. It's also a great way of identifying kids who would be a good fit on one of our full-time academy Teams. This evaluation can take place at any time in the Street Soccer calendar year, and players who would like to join an Academy Team can even do so mid-season (if there are spots available). We apply a credit for the Street Soccer fee towards pro-rated Academy fees. This is because ALL our full-time academy players get all 6 months of STREET SOCCER included as part of their training program!
